Wherever this process takes you, we go together.

I've been in private practice since 2015, offering individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy.

“The truth is rarely pure and never simple.” ― Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest

My interest in our psychological complexity and living an embodied, truthful life has guided my training for the past fifteen years. Utilizing a background in performance and physical movement, combined with psychodynamic training, I bring a multi-faceted lens to each person I work with. Before private practice, I worked with individuals and families struggling with relationship and recovery issues at an outpatient addictions center and led experientially-focused groups with survivors of domestic violence.

As Carl Jung posited, we must become a problem for one another for the therapy to begin. The journey towards the complicated truths within you will transform both of us in the process. Through our time in therapy together, I hope to help you live a more interesting and empowered life.

Our psychotherapy process, whether individually, with your partner, or in a group, will be a journey of connection, safety and deep understanding.

We will use our relationship to increase your experience of authentic, intimate encounters. Your growing consciousness of self and others, will help you break through the binding of your past and free you to live fully in the present.

Curiosity fosters freedom.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
There is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
The world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
Doesn’t make any sense.

MY APPROACH

Open, expansive, embodied.

Attuned, not analytical.

Years spent studying emotion made me deeply sensitive to what goes unspoken. I’m always listening with more than my ears. I draw on intuition and on my own physical and emotional responses to understand what you're communicating, even the parts you're not yet aware of.

The more comfortable we get with discomfort, the less afraid we become of life's twists and turns. I'm not here to help you avoid what's hard - but rather to help you meet it all with more freedom and less fear. We are far more resourced than we realize.

Discomfort isn’t the enemy

I'm wary of any approach that promises fast relief or glamorizes happiness as the end-all, be-all goal. Real change and freedom come from relationship, not a manualized process, and from being deeply known, not efficiently managed.

In making our lives more interesting, nourishing, and impactful.

When we understand how the past informs the present, we can choose how we shape our life.

Therapy is not for the broken or depraved! It can be a place to invest time, energy and care into yourself.

It can be a place to recognize and celebrate your strengths, your achievements and your growing edge. Laughter is as likely as tears.

My hope for you is more security, warmth, and tenderness towards yourself.

The therapy space can hold you, all of you, so you don’t have to feel alone. This is a space to become more interested in yourself and your relationships, to learn, grow, and ultimately, befriend yourself.

Whether couples therapy, group therapy, or individual therapy, this is your safe space to speak freely - where you can finally find relief in clearly communicating everything held inside, or spilling out sideways. Unburdening creates space for insight, courage and endurance.

“Jamie is one of those clinicians I genuinely feel lucky to know and call a peer. I have so much admiration for her intelligence and the way she brings clinical knowledge and accuracy into her work without ever losing sight of the actual person sitting in front of her. She has such a deep capacity for attunement and nuance, and I think that combination is pretty special.

I especially love watching how she brings that same balance into her couples work. She seems to do it so effortlessly—holding the complexity of each individual while also keeping an eye on the relationship and what is happening between them. It’s really exciting to watch her work.

Jamie’s expertise in group therapy is another reason I recommend her so often. She is actually my number-one recommendation to my own clients who are looking to add group therapy to their support and treatment. I trust her immensely, both clinically and as someone who creates a thoughtful, safe, and genuinely therapeutic space for people.

I highly, highly recommend Jamie for deep individual work, couples work, and group therapy. She is an exceptional clinician, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for her.”
